Post match shenanigans the previous week were hosted by Green Field which was delightful, thanks in part to some inspired ordering by the Captain (with a brilliant duck curry suggestion from Tao). It was delicious and reasonably priced which is a rare combo in Melbourne these days. But one week after our dionysian wanderings we took to the boards with a different kind of combo (a jazz fusion combo if you will), in a match that was neither a draw nor a win but a loss. Against our dear musical friends: Los Elefantes. A jazzy five piece skippered by the inimitable Henry aka Horatio Luna. Los Elefantes play with jazzy fizz and frisson and in the end the Nannas had no reply for their crescendoes. But we were three up in the first half and we made them work for it. At one point, Henry nutmegged Gilly to score a goal. Post match was a march to check the state of the Union I gather, though neither Cocky nor myself attended due to being a bit soft. First match report in a while. Thanks for the honour.
